St Birinus School is celebrating the excellent achievement of its students in their GCSE qualifications this summer. Students in this Year 11 cohort have worked consistently hard and brought real determination and character to their Key Stage 4 courses and to school culture more widely. We are delighted that the grades awarded today genuinely recognise their commitment and ambition and allow students to progress onto the destinations that they desire.
- 72% of our 168 Year 11 students achieved a Grade 4 and above in English and Maths, and 52% achieved Grade 5 or above in both.
- 67% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9-4) and 48% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9-5).
- 79% of students achieved Grade 4 and above in English and 79% achieved Grade 4 and above in Maths. At Grade 5 and above, 63% were successful in English and 64% in Maths.
In summary, for the 168 students in Year 11:
- 67% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9 – 4)
- 48% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9 – 5)
- 79% of students gained a grade 4 or above in English
- 63% of students gained a grade 5 or above in English
- 20% of students gained a grade 7 or above in English
- 79% of students gained a grade 4 or above in Maths
- 64% of students gained a grade 5 or above in Maths
- 30% of students gained a grade 7 or above in Maths
- Overall Attainment 8 figure – 50
106 students sat GCSE Statistics last summer and 95% achieved a grade 4 or above and 77% a grade 5.
