We are delighted to be holding another BIG Careers evening, after the success of last year's event.

Our careers education provision is based around the Gatsby Benchmarks, a series of 8 goals that have been defined to guide schools to deliver careers education which is relevant, forward-thinking and aspirational. Gatsby, as an organisation, is committed to strengthening the UK’s science and engineering skills, improving technical careers education within schools and securing the next generation of fabulous employees (and employers!) including budding scientists, technical experts and researchers, to name but a few.

Whilst the event will have a STEM focus, there will be a number of other businesses represented so there should be something that appeals to all students. 

The event will be hosted at St Birinus School on Wednesday 22nd January. Most speakers will be situated in the main hall, the newly-refurbished Sixth Form Common Room and the gym and a floor plan will be given out upon arrival. We would like to invite Year 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 students from Didcot Girls’ School, St Birinus School and Didcot Sixth Form to attend. Parents are encouraged to attend as well, if possible. The event will end promptly at 8:30pm.

Our PTA is kindly providing refreshments to purchase at this event.

Parking will be available behind the science block and PE block at St Birinus School on North Drive. Please come to the main reception entrance for a booklet detailing who is at the event with more of an overview about each of the businesses/companies in attendance.
