Record-breaking fundraising for Comic Relief
Posted on: 26/03/2019New SBS record for charity fundraising
Staff and students enjoyed a week of fundraising for Comic Relief in the lead up to Red Nose Day on Friday 15th March 2019. Events included a movie and pizza night, staff v student penalty shoot out, science demonstrations (most of which involved explosions!), non-uniform day, the famous St Birinus Bake Off and last - but by no means least - a school favourite… the cake sale!
Thank you to everyone who participated, in whatever way. We managed to raise a fantastic total of £1251.68.
Huge congratulations to all our talented bakers who entered the bake-off. The standard was deliciously high (not a soggy bottom in sight) and we were truly amazed with every-single entry!
It was a hard decision and required a considerable amount of sampling, but Mr Marston, our catering manager Mrs Andrews and I finally decided who should receive the prestigious award of Star Baker.
